“Promise me Liz, I won’t look fat in my photos”
I sat down with her on the couch and told her to take a deep breath. I was about to start a conversation that I find myself in way too often. One that I hope someday I’ll no longer need to have.
It’s not that I find it awkward. It’s because it breaks my heart. There are so many incredibly talented and beautiful women in this world, yet they still place their value and success on their weight. Where the layer of fat on my belly forms these comfy rolls when I sit and where my muffin tops give a jiggle when I dance. Where my thick upper arms flap in the wind and my ass….well, it will forever want to be “pancake” style.
The glorious mess that it is. It’s all mine.
And I love it.
